Welcome!

It began as a dream on a bike path outside of Philadelphia. A beautiful fall day, clear skies, brilliant colors, the river wandering along beside me. I was daydreaming.

Lately, I had been imagining riding my bike across the country, seeing all the small towns, the tremendous mountains, the rich valleys, the sun and the rain. I dreamt of the freedom to just ride and ride for days on end. It was an outrageous idea for a 60-something woman. My family made sure I knew that.

Then it came to me, almost a voice. "If you do something that outrageous, maybe you could raise outrageous amounts of money." The next thought was $100,000, half for Meserete Kristos College and half for transitional housing for Timberline Church. From that day on, I planned and dreamed and talked to my family and then I dreamed some more.

Then I took the first step. I signed up to ride my bike from California to Florida. Now I'm in preparation mode. I'm preparing my body and my equipment for this long ride, and I'm preparing this website to help tell the stories that need to be told. The story of this ride, and the story of the two organizations I'm raising money for. Please browse this site so that you can learn more about these two outstanding organizations and the work that they're doing to change lives.

Join me for this great adventure. Participate with me. Be an armchair traveler. I will update the website throughout my training and my ride.

Join the adventure as a supporter of these two great programs. Education will help wipe out poverty. Training church leaders will further God's kingdom on earth. Providing housing for people who need a fresh start is a way that we can reach out to those in need. These programs do that and more.
